P-012 GARENGEOT'S HERNIA WITH ACUTE APPENDICITIS: A RARE CASE

Abstract Garengeot's hernia is a rare entity that refers to the herniation of vermiform appendix through femoral canal, being even rarer presence acute appendicitis in Garengeot as presented clinical case, with an overall incidence 0,08%-0,13%. A 52 years old female patient, attended Emergency Service complaining abdominal pain right lower quadrant and fever for last 2 days. As pathological background, she had bilateral tubal ligation, crural hernioplasty iatrogenic uterine perforation after placement intrauterine device (IUD). On physical examination, complained iliac fossa/right inguinal region showing positive Blumberg sign. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed appendicitis. In laparoscopic approach, we identified ileocecal contained abscessed We proceeded appendectomy and, given soiling operative field, chose not correct at moment. Empirical antibiotic therapy Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid was performed patient discharged 3 Diagnosis difficult, more frequently diagnosed intraoperatively. There's no standard therapeutic approach regarding repair simultaneously, licit do it due risk postoperative infection.
